(A Fleeting Story)

They say love comes into your life three times — once for a reason, once for a season, and once for a lifetime.

Each arrive like a trip — unforgettable and deep…it may or may not break you or change you but it definitely shape you. Not always in the order you expect, yet each one knows when to find you.

The season

It comes in loud and warm.

The kind of love that makes you feel like you’re walking through a movie scene — long drives, love songs, inside jokes, shared screens, and eyes that say everything even when words fall short.

You’re young, reckless, wildly romantic, and someone makes falling in love feel like a festival.

It doesn’t last, of course. Seasonal things never do.

And yet, their absence stays longer than their presence ever does.

The Reason

On paper, it looks like forever.

It isn’t.

It ends.

And somehow, it changes you — in ways only endings can.

It breaks what is breakable, and what comes after is stronger, softer, more yours.

You don’t carry regret. Just the lessons. And a version of yourself you hadn’t met before.

And then sometimes — comes the sweet ‘Almost’ in between..which feels like a lifetime.

The Almost

Maybe it was a dream. Maybe it was real…

Someone who arrived gently, without warning.

We shared thoughts, humor, the same love for unfamiliar paths, for the feeling of not quite belonging anywhere but still wanting to see it all.

There was connection, not commitment.

An unspoken understanding.

But one day that changed too, it had to. Without drama. Just a quiet shift.

I tried to box it up. Forget.

But sometimes it lingers — like sand, like moments, like them.

Like a happy memory and gratitude— for what it was, for what it wasn’t, and for what it will always be – a sweet, special part of life.

The season passes.

The reason reshapes you.

The almost opens you.

And the lifetime?

Maybe… a friend is the lifetime.

Maybe it’s not some grand arrival, but something softer. 🐕

Maybe it’s yet to unfold.

Maybe it’s your own love — the one you keep returning to.

Or maybe…it’s there but just not part of this story.
